Notes from building with coding agents, written by the person still in the loop.
Most writing about coding agents is either a demo reel or a eulogy. This is neither. It's a place to write down what happened when I actually built the thing — the measurements, the parts that broke, and the decisions no model made for me.
The experiments here are mostly AI-assisted, and so is a fair amount of the writing. That isn't a disclaimer so much as the subject. A model can produce a working port in an afternoon; it can't tell you whether the benchmark you just ran means anything, or notice that the number it's proud of came from measuring the wrong thing. Deciding what was worth building, checking what came back, and throwing out the parts that were wrong — that's the work I'm writing about, and it's the half that still needs a person.
Posts are long because the interesting parts are in the details. There's no newsletter, no tracking, and no comment section. If you want to argue, that's what email is for.
